The Big Little Print Show - Fundraising Poster
Illustration / Screen Printing
The Big Little Print Show is an Austin-based little print show dedicated to benefiting a local nonprofit. Only a selected 30 artists are chosen to come together to create 30 little posters that will be shown off for only 1 week to help support and raise funds for 1 local non profit.
This year, The Big Little Print Show proudly supported Urban Roots ATX. Urban Roots works with youth and local community towards a thriving, equitable, and sustainable food system. To achieve this, youth leaders and our community grow fresh food for our neighbors facing food barriers, and we aim to support them in building an Austin that has achieved food equity for all.
I created a limited edition of 40 8x8 prints titled:
‘Doodle-Doodle Discovery’
Our family is fortunate enough to have land located in Texas. And with this gift we have the additional fortune to be able to hunt our own meat and even gather wild berries. While hunting is a gift to be able to have a more sustainable source of meat, it is also an act that is 99% our family coming together on our ‘doodle-doodle’ rides to watch, discover, and sometimes even hand feed all the other animals found out on the farm. Our most precious moments on these rides are when the grass and flowers remain so tall that anything could easily hide amongst them. Which if you’re lucky, you’ll stumble across a young fawn hidden within them. And if you’re even luckier, you’ll get to watch this fawn grow year after year until she herself has her own fawns hiding in the tall grass one day as well.
